  Thanks! I actually had to take them with our Ipad, because I can’t upload pics from our camera while we’re down here. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the Ipad does with photos!

The forecast is hot, the snacks and beach towels are plentiful, and we are ready for Weekend at the Lake Part 2.

We celebrated Kaylia's birthday this week. (We also celebrated it last week, and have plans to celebrate a few more times next week, because that's how it goes with a birthday in May.) It's 14 years since she entered this world a month early, as Ben was sitting in a taxi cab in BC, trying to get to the airport and get home in time. Anika said she had to come early because she was just so excited to be born that she couldn't wait any longer. This is a very accurate description of the level of enthusiasm that Kaylia brings to life in general. 🙂

I hurt my back so badly last week that I was flat in bed for three days. I hobbled around like a little old lady, and I cried a little bit, because it looked completely impossible for me to be able to go to the cabin for the long weekend.

We are here, and we're so happy to be back. Winter seemed very long, but now that we're here, it almost feels like we never left. As usual, the drive out yesterday was delightful, and the topics discussed with Ben were varied and unexpected, including:

I got the stomach flu for Mother's Day, which was disappointing. But what is never disappointing is that I get to be a mom to these three wonderful human beings.

Anika came home from college on Saturday, and less than 24 hours later, she was off to camp for the next four months. It was a whirlwind of unpacking and repacking, and for a few hours, we had a whole dorm room's worth of stuff spread over our house. But she whipped that situation into shape, and breezed out the door, ready for the next adventure.
