The plan was to tag along on a camping trip with Ben and all of the counselors-in-training this weekend.
Things started off well. The girls were having a great time in the tent.
And then this happened:
That would be the hail that came down on our tent. Since the rain kept coming, and it was only supposed to be eight degrees at night, I took Kaylia home. Anika wanted to stay.
But we went back for a bit the next day, and it was very, very nice.
You can feel the end of summer in the air, but she’s still putting on a good show.
We played with rocks:
And climbed trees:
Played in the sand:
And ate hotdogs with the CITs:
And then both girls wanted to go home. Anika was missing her bed, after being a camper for a whole week.
And on that topic, I must share that my two girlies have been very happily reunited. They missed each other last week! Anika is hugging and kissing Kaylia constantly, and Kaylia puts her little arms around Anika, pats her back, and says, “I love you very, very much!”
But sometimes she is tired of being kissed and hugged, and wants to run freely. Then she says, “Go WAY, Anka!!!”
Yes, well. At least there’s more love than fighting most of the time.
